About UsStart with a Seedling began in September 2014 as an intergenerational literacy research initiative, organized by Dr. Lyndsay Moffatt, an education professor at the University of Prince Edward Island. Since that time, the program has evolved and grown to address food security concerns in the community. Now, the primary purpose of the Start with a Seedling Program is to connect school aged children to the process of food production—from a seedling in the soil to a meal at the table.
